India’s Anita Desai, Ireland’s Dermot Healy and Australia’s Amanda Lohrey all read a new piece of writing around the theme of ‘water’, especially created for the 2013 Sydney Writers’ Festival. Fittingly, they’ll read their short pieces at The Bar at the End of the Wharf overlooking the harbour. Hosted by Stephanie Bishop from University of NSW.
How, as a writer in a world with many threatened ecologies, do you grab people's attention and move them towards making better decisions for our planet? What types of stories motivate? Join the University of NSW's Stephen Muecke as he leads a discussion between Robert Drewe (Montebello), Deborah Bird Rose (Wild Dog Dreaming) and Stephen Scourfield (As The River Runs) about exploring environmental issues through different genres and forms.
