Performances

Our public performances are supported by professional choreographers and directors, and presented each year in Io Myers Studio and Studio One. We also present performances created by the students, including solo performance, collaborative performance – and a season of practical research projects created by students in Honours. Students, parents, the university, artists and local communities are invited to attend.

The UNSW Creative Practice Lab in the School of the Arts & Media presents a popular program of performances, exhibitions and events every year. We also provide opportunities for students to watch visiting artists and creative work in development, through partnerships with organisations like the Biennale of Sydney, Carriageworks, Critical Path, Griffin Theatre, PACT Centre for Emerging Artists, Performance Space and Shopfront Contemporary Arts.

Performing Arts Internships

Put your learning into practice with an internship and gain experience in a professional creative environment. Test-drive your skills and pursue your passions with leading Australian arts organisations to learn the ropes, expand your networks and kick-start your creative career.

Students can take an internship with performing arts organisations in third year. This is an opportunity to explore a potential career path and make connections with people in the industry. Students interested in developing their performance skills, observing creative developments, supporting community-based performing arts organisations, or working as arts managers and administrators are partnered with an appropriate organisation.
