2017 SAM PitchFest

When:16 Oct 2017, 11am - 12:30pm
Venue:Keith Burrows Theatre (map ref. J14), UNSW Kensington
Who:UNSW Media students

Congratulations to the 2017 SAM PitchFest winner Lucy Karsai and runner-up Iain Salvador!

If millennials are havin’ problems I feel bad for you, son
I got 99 problems but a pitch ain’t one…

With a smashed avo in one hand and a Snapchat filter addiction in the other, join us cheering on our stellar Advertising, PR and Journalism students as they battle for first place at the 2017 SAM PitchFest.

The fancy dress theme is “millennials are killing everything”, so come dressed as either a problem millennials are experiencing or a problem millennials are supposed to have caused. We’re thinking failed Bachelor contestant, wannabe influencer, the HECs monster, a #SorryElders hashtag, pretty much any of the Kardashians… Best dressed will receive a prize that’s so good we have to keep it super top secret...

Organised by SAM’s Dr Emma A. Jane and a hard-working team of UNSW students, the annual SAM PitchFest has two main aims: 1) to give 15 of our best third-year students the chance to pitch themselves and their work directly to a panel of high-level industry judges; and 2) to engage in a boisterous celebration of the end of semester and (for many participants and audience members) the end of uni life.

As an added bonus, the winner will away with a $250 voucher at the Iconic and a magnum of champagne (donated by The 360 Degree Marketing Group), a weekend coding bootcamp at Coder Academy, and an official “I won” certificate.

Special guest judges for this year’s competition include Osher Günsberg (host of Channel 10’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette and director at SANE Australia) and Annabel Crabb (star of ABC-TV’s Kitchen Cabinet and The House with Annabel Crabb).

Do come. We’re sure your verdict will be a resounding, “Dude, that’s, like, totally pitchin’…”

Dress up theme: Millennials are killing everything
Who can come: Everyone!
