Angelique Tot
The Nineteenth Century Heroine

Enjoy Operatic arias & art songs which represent the multifaceted 19th Century Heroine. Composers such as Grieg, Donizetti, Dvorak and Puccini have depicted women who struggle to conform to societies romantic ideal and their experience of joy, heartbreak and the sacrifice for love.

Joanne Kim
Colours of the Flute

An expression of the wide range of colours of the flute through three pieces with different tones and atmosphere. Hamburger Sonata by CPE Bach, Undine Sonata by Carl Reinecke, and Lamentos bajo el Mar (2000) by Salvador Espasa. Starting from CPE Bach, with a bright and resonant sound leading to Reinecke, exploring rich romantic sound, then to expressive and unique sounds of extended techniques on the flute.

Amy Kang
Harmonies of Formosa

Immerse yourself into the harmonies that Western classical music and traditional Taiwanese music create. Elements of western musical art blended with requisite qualities of Taiwanese music will be depicted through selected piano works by Tyzen Hsiao, a Taiwanese classical composer, Debussy and Chopin.
