This seminar will survey historical and current methods of value measurement and expression, and introduce European approaches such as ‘Communication Controlling’ (communication performance management). Attendees will also be encouraged to consider the non-financial expression of value.

Tom Watson is Professor of Public Relations at The Media School, Bournemouth University, Poole, UK. He is an alumnus of UNSW, and is one of the most distinguished scholars in Public Relations worldwide. Due to his leadership as a PR historian, the annual international conference on PR history regularly takes place at Bournemouth University.

He is currently working on a six-volume history of public relations. He is also a leading scholar in the field of PR evaluation, and the second edition of his book on PR evaluation is being published early 2014.
