Triumph

Are the darkest of times the ones that bind us?

People are hurting. A group comes together over tea and biscuits. Elsewhere a sick girl reaches out, she hesitates. And a man digs a hole, inviting in the darkness. Triumph travels through time and place, zooming in to precise moments of suffering and our connections with strangers and loved ones.

In this darkly funny and troubling new play, acclaimed Melbourne playwright Louris van de Geer makes us face uncomfortable characters inspired by real life events with unexpected repercussions.

Under director Tessa Leong’s careful eye, and with the assistance of Paul Matthews’ transformative design, our cast for this Sydney premiere season vividly brings Geer’s tour de force to life. This collaboration aims to challenge certainties and make us question the reassuring thoughts that usually let us sleep at night.
